New Vice Chancellor for Student Life and Services Announced

Aiken, SC (05/10/2019) — Ahmed Samaha has accepted the position of vice chancellor for student life and services at the University of South Carolina Aiken, beginning July 1, 2019.

He is currently serving as the interim vice chancellor for student life and services and has been in that role since June 2018. Samaha oversees 26 full time professionals in USC Aiken Housing, Counseling, the Health Center, Disabilities Services, Recreation and Wellness Programs, Student Life, Diversity Initiatives, and International Programs.

Prior to the interim vice chancellor position, Samaha has served the University of South Carolina Aiken for 25 years - as assistant vice chancellor for student life (2011-2018); as director of student life (2007 - 2011); and as director of student activities/assistant director of student activities (1994-2002).

Samaha serves on a number of professional boards, including the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA), 1994 to present; the National Association of Student Personal Administrators (NASPA), 2010 to present; and the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA), 1993-1997, and again from 2014 to present. He is also the chair of the Student Leadership Institute Event at Disney.
