Cultural Series Finale Steps up Energy, Sets Stage for Next Season

Aiken, SC (03/19/2019) — Tickets are still on sale for The StepCrew, which performs March 22 at 7:30 p.m., in the USC Aiken Etherredge Center for Fine and Performing Arts. This event closes out the 2018-2019 Cultural Series.

Patrons can purchase tickets at the Etherredge Center Box Office, by phone (803) 641-3305, or online at etherredge.usca.edu.

"The StepCrew is the new Celtic inspired dance production that features the world's top talents in Irish, Ottawa Valley and modern tap dancing," said Michael St. John, Etherredge Center box office manager.

"With a cast of five outstanding dancers, two of the genre's most talented fiddle players, and backed by an amazing five-piece band, The StepCrew is set to take Celtic dance to the next level as this production continuously transitions from modern interpretations of traditional Celtic music and dance to completely original musical compositions and choreography created especially for the show."

While this event completes the current Cultural Series, subscription tickets for the upcoming season, which begins in October, will be on sale during The StepCrew performance. The 2019-2020 Cultural Season promises a line-up of new and innovative acts, which will appeal to all audiences of all ages.

"This season is going to be hugely exciting," said Paul Crook, executive director of the Etherredge Center.

"We want to build on the great work and history of superb performances and broaden our reach, with the intent of making the Etherredge Center an arts destination for the state of South Carolina."

The upcoming season kicks off with the Four Tops, Oct. 22; followed by Broadway star Shoshana Bean in November and the Princely Players, brought to Aiken by the partnership between the Etherredge Center and the Center for African American History, Arts and Culture in December. The new year will feature Artrageous in January; Flex Ave., in February, again in conjunction with the CAAHAC; and the 2019-2020 season ends with Broadway's Next H!t Musical.

After The StepCrew performance, 2019-2020 Cultural Series subscriptions will be available again this summer.
