USC Aiken Undergrads Showcase Summer Research

Aiken, SC (07/23/2018) — The University of South Carolina Aiken presents its inaugural Summer Scholars Institute, Wednesday, July 25, in the Gregg-Graniteville Library, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.

Media outlets and the public are invited to attend.

Undergraduate students will present the research they have conducted this summer with their faculty advisors. Approximately 20 presenters from across all disciplines are expected to participate.

In total, scholars have received upwards of $50,000 for their summer research. Some of them earned biomedical grants from the National Institutes of Health as part of its Institutional Development Award (IDeA) Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence, or INBRE, program. The Department of Energy funded some of the USC Aiken undergraduates' summer research with Workforce Opportunities in Regional Careers, or WORC, grants. Additionally, some scholars received funding from local partners, including ADP, Augusta.
