USC Aiken Has Super Showing at Researchers' Symposium

Aiken, SC (04/22/2019) — The University of South Carolina Aiken College of Sciences and Engineering was well-represented at the 92nd Annual Meeting of the South Carolina Academy of Science, the end of March at Francis Marion University.

"This meeting continues to be an excellent scientific conference for institutions across our state to recognize outstanding undergraduate research," said Dr. Chad Leverette, interim dean of the College of Sciences and Engineering.

In total, 24 USC Aiken STEM students gave either poster or oral presentations at this year's meeting. These students were mentored by eight different faculty from the USC Aiken Department of Biology and Geology and the Department of Chemistry and Physics.

"We are very proud of all who participated and extend a special congratulations to our award recipients," Leverette said.

"I am extremely grateful for our faculty mentors who spend countless hours working with these students.

"It was a great day for USC Aiken's College of Sciences and Engineering."
