Weather Watch

Aiken, SC (09/29/2022) — As Hurricane Ian changes its status to a tropical storm, Aiken County and the CSRA still expect heavy rainfall and flash flooding tomorrow, Friday, September 30. With 2 to 6 inches of rainfall and high winds expected tomorrow, the university will proceed with virtual classes, and all other campus activities will be canceled. For those students who are engaged with external activities (i.e., clinicals, practicums, and internships), please contact those university partners and follow their protocols. At this time, Saturday activities will proceed as normal.

University offices will stay open and should be fully operational tomorrow. If conditions prove unsafe to travel to campus, please check with your immediate supervisor about using annual leave.

USC Aiken Children's Center: Will be closed

Housing: Open

Wellness Center: Will close at 5 p.m.

Gregg-Graniteville Library: Will close at 5 p.m.

As the evacuation site for USC Beaufort, the university will host approximately 20 students and staff beginning today and throughout the weekend.
