Aiken, SC (02/14/2020) — The University of South Carolina Aiken Wind Ensemble presents Fusion on March 5, at 7:30 p.m., in the Etherredge Center for the Fine and Performing Arts.

"Our program entitled Fusion celebrates diversity on many levels," said Dr. Hayes Bunch director of bands at USC Aiken.

"The program includes works written mostly by female and minority composers and brings together a variety of styles and genres including compositions for live instrumentalists and electronics."

The concert will feature guest soloist Dr. Keely Rhodes, a mezzo soprano who coordinates the vocal studies program at USC Aiken. In addition, the performance will include the works of Chen Yi, Peter Meechan, Victoriano Valencia, Michael Mikulka, Scott Joplin, Kathryn Salfelder, and Alex Shapiro.

"We look forward to sharing the stage with USC Aiken's own Dr. Keely Rhodes who will perform the music of Scott Joplin with our students," Bunch said.

All students will get in free. General admission tickets are $10.

"Please join us for a special evening of music making," Bunch said.
