USC Aiken Wind Ensemble to Perform

Aiken, SC (09/11/2019) — The University of South Carolina Aiken Wind Ensemble's first concert of the year takes place Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m., in the Etherredge Center for the Fine and Performing Arts.

"Our first program of the year acknowledges and celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing," said Dr. Hayes Bunch, USC Aiken assistant professor of music and director of bands.

"All of the music being performed was inspired by extraterrestrial bodies and phenomena."

Star Gazing, the academic year's inaugural concert, features the works of Matt Browne, John Pennington, Brian Balmages, Andrew Boss, Daniel McCarthy, Zae Munn, and Matthew Jackfert.

"The student-musicians of the USC Aiken Wind Ensemble look forward to sharing the work of these brilliant composers," said Bunch, who will conduct the performance.
