USCA and Shepeard Community Blood Center Partner for Blood Drive on October 22

Aiken, SC (10/07/2021) — The University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA) and Shepeard Community Blood Center will be holding a community blood drive on the university campus on Friday, October 22, from 10:00 a.m. - 3 p.m. As a thank you, each donor will receive a Halloween-themed shirt. Additionally, all donations will be screened for COVID-19 antibodies. Donors will be notified of the antibody results and should provide an email address for quick notification.

Donations will help Shepeard Community Blood Center provide blood and blood products to more than 20 local hospitals in the CSRA and the regional burn center.

"USCA has a long history of supporting Shepeard in their efforts to provide blood products to our local hospitals, and we're pleased to continue that tradition. Citizenship is one of USCA's core values, and donating blood is a vital service we can provide to our community. We truly appreciate everyone who shows up to our drives to give the gift of life to others," said Andrew Hendrix, event organizer and director of admissions at USCA.
