Alumnus Named Managing Partner of Columbia Law Firm

Aiken, SC (09/07/2021) — University of South Carolina Aiken (UofSC Aiken) alumnus Chris Spradley has been named managing partner of Moore Bradley Myers Law Firm (MBM) in West Columbia.

Spradley has practiced law for more than 20 years in several areas, including criminal defense, family law, personal injury, and local government. He has been with MBM since 2002 and manages the Saluda office. Spradley will oversee operations, delegate responsibilities and guide MBM's strategic vision.

"We have been in this community for almost 50 years, and we did not last this long without learning some things along the way," said S. Jahue (Jake) Moore, MBM founding senior partner. "One lesson is to invest in our people. We are so excited about the next evolution of our law firm by naming Chris as managing partner. He is an important leader at our firm by offering advice to our younger attorneys and consultation with our other partners. We know this is going to be a great fit for Chris and our firm."

Spradley has a long history of serving the Midlands and South Carolina.

He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Lexington County Bar, Tri-County Bar, South Carolina Association for Justice, and the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Spradley served as a state prosecutor for the Eleventh Circuit Solicitor's Office and was the first prosecutor for the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team. He was also the municipal judge for Ridge Spring and a former board member for the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Spradley often presents at seminars focusing on prosecution and defense of criminal matters and magistrate classes. A graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School, Spradley earned his undergraduate degree at UofSC Aiken and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Before attending law school, he was with the City of Columbia Fire Department, City of Aiken Public Safety, and an adjunct instructor for the South Carolina Fire Academy. He is a member of the Saluda Fire Department.
