April Student of the Month
Aiken, SC (04/19/2022) — Rachel Weatherford has been named the Aiken Sunrise Rotary Club Student of the Month for April.
Weatherford is in her junior year as an elementary education major at the University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken). Originally from Williston, South Carolina, she has maintained a 3.96 GPA and hopes to eventually earn her doctorate degree in either elementary education or guidance counseling at Clemson or Winthrop University.
In addition to her academic responsibilities, she is very involved in extracurricular activities on campus. She has worked as a student leadership coordinator at the USC Aiken Student Life Office. She is currently the treasurer of Zeta Tau Alpha, a Teaching Fellow, a PaceSetter, and a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an honor society for education.
Weatherford chose to attend USC Aiken because it instantly felt like home when she toured the campus. "I love the family aspect that the campus has," she said. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and taking care of her growing collection of plants.
