Lambda Pi Eta Announces New Members
Aiken, SC (05/19/2020) — The University of South Carolina Aiken chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the national communication honor society, welcomed several new members this semester.
"I'm proud of these students. This is a big group of inductees. One of the biggest cohorts in our history," said USC Aiken Lambda Pi Eta Faculty Advisor Dr. Jason Munsell.
"I'm very sorry we couldn't do a traditional face-to-face induction ceremony because of COVID-19, but these students are so awesome, they transcend space and time."
Lambda Pi Eta was founded in 1985 at the University of Arkansas. The National Communication Association established LPH as an affiliate organization and as the official national communication honor society for undergraduates in 1995. In February, 1996, Lambda Pi Eta was certified by the Association of College Honor Societies. Now, there are nearly 500 LPH chapters worldwide.
The chapter at USC Aiken, the Nu Rho Chapter, was established in 2001 by Dr. Charmaine Wilson, at the urging of a communication major, Jason J. Hancock, Class of '02.
