Marketing Alum, Local Business Owner Now at Aiken Electric

Aiken, SC (10/14/2020) — Aiken Electric Cooperative recently hired University of South Carolina Aiken almna, Daniele Ligons, Class of '12, as its marketing manager.

In addition to her new responsibilities, she works as the creative director for her own business, Ligons Creative Co.

Ligons has a heart for service and community involvement and is an active member of the Aiken Junior Woman's Club and United Way of Aiken County's Young Philanthropists Society.

"It is a membership group of Young Philanthropists who are committed, through resources and time, to creating real, lasting change in alignment with United Way of Aiken County's mission to improve the lives in our community," according to the United Way website.

"It is a collaborative effort of young professionals whose desire is to give back to their community through philanthropic efforts, advocacy and volunteerism."

The society named Ligons the 2019 Young Philanthropist of the Year.

She also serves on the USC Aiken Alumni Board where she works with fellow members to increase alumni engagement.

"I am so excited to be a part this organization! I learned so much during my time in undergrad that prepared me for my career," she said.

"It is a pleasure to give back to a place where so much was given to me. I look forward to helping the board and alumni association grow."
