Esports Gaming Center Opening

Aiken, SC (10/07/2020) — The media is invited to cover The University of South Carolina Aiken's new Esports gaming center's dedication on Monday, October 12.

Media may arrive starting at 3 p.m. to obtain video footage of the facility and interviews with some of the esports players before the ceremony. We are taking this step to avoid overcrowding.

At 4 p.m., the formal ceremony will start immediately outside the center. Schedule to speak will be Chancellor Sandra J. Jordan, Dr. David Morris, the Esports team advisor, Samuel Boyd, Student Government President and League of legends Esports Team Captain, and Kevin Kerr, the UofSC Aiken Housing Director.

The facility is in the lower level of the Pacer Commons Residence Hall at 855 Leadership Drive on the campus of UofSC Aiken. Access to the center is made from outside the building between the Pacer Common and Pacer Crossings residence halls.
