Student of the Month
Eva Slagle, USCA student body president, has been named the Aiken Sunrise Rotary Student of the Month for November 2021.
Aiken, SC (11/18/2021) — Eva Slagle, the University of South Carolina Aiken's (USCA) student body president, has been named the Aiken Sunrise Rotary Student of the Month for November 2021.
Slagle is a senior communication major and a campus leader. Her accomplishments as a Pacer include being elected student body president and co-founding the USCA chapter of Delight Ministries, a national women's ministry. She's a member of both the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and the Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society. Slagle has worked on campus as a student office assistant for USCA housing and a marketing intern for Aramark in partnership with USCA campus dining.
Originally from Chapin, South Carolina, Slagle aspires to work in a community-oriented position at a corporate level, working in community development or outreach and partnering with local non-profit organizations. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking in Hitchcock Wood, visiting local restaurants with friends, and spending time at home with her dogs. She also enjoys photography and particularly enjoys shooting portraits and events.
Reflecting further upon her decision to attend USCA, she said, "I knew this would be the perfect place to learn and grow during my college years. It was also a great option financially and in terms of proximity since it's located only an hour away from my family's home. I have never regretted my decision to attend USCA and have been infinitely blessed by all of the many opportunities I have found here."
