Three Honored by Peach Belt

Augusta, Ga. (03/12/2019) — The University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team picked up three accolades at the Peach Belt Conference banquet.

Xzavier Barmore and Ty'lik Evans earned first-team all-conference honors while Kyle Tackeberry was named the Elite 15 award winner.

Barmore, a junior guard from Seneca, S.C., averaged 17.9 points per game through 29 contests. He connected on 45.8 percent of his shots from the floor, including 30.6 percent of his attempts from downtown. Barmore ranks second in the league in field goals made (200), third in assists (173) and steals (72), fifth in points (518) and points per game (17.9). He has scored over 20 points 13 times, including a season-best 27 in the win over Georgia College. Barmore set the school record for assists in a game on two occasions, including a 17-assist performance that established a PBC Tournament record for a single game.

Evans, a senior guard from Macon, Ga., averaged a league-best 19.3 points per game through 29 contests. He has connected on 40.8 percent of his shots from the field, including 38.6 percent from downtown. Evans leads the PBC in points per game, points (559), steals (114) and three-point field goals made (112). He is third in the league in field goals made (188), fifth in offensive rebounds (81) and eighth in assists (120). This season, Evans has scored over 20 points 13 times, including over 30 points on four occasions. He netted a career high 38 in the win over North Georgia.Tackeberry, a junior guard from Charlotte, N.C., picked up the hardware as the Elite 15 award winner. The award goes to the student-athlete competing in the PBC Tournament with the highest GPA.

Tackeberry, a key cog on the squad, was named to the PBC all-academic team with a 3.774 GPA in nursing.
