UofSC Aiken Wind Ensemble Presents "Survival, Loss, and Healing"

Aiken, SC (09/07/2021) — University of South Carolina Aiken (UofSC Aiken) Wind Ensemble presents "Survival, Loss, and Healing" on September 30, 7:30 p.m. at the Etherredge Center for the Fine and Performing Arts.

The concert features guest soloist Dr. Keely Rhodes, mezzo-soprano and UofSC Aiken coordinator of vocal studies, and the works of Roger Zare, J.S. Bach, Hugh M. Stuart, Derek Bourgeois, Morton Feldman, Lee Hartman, and Steven Bryant.

Rhodes will perform the music of Morton Feldman and Lee Hartman with UofSC Aiken students.

"Our concert will center around the themes of survival, loss, lament, recovery, and healing together in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic," said Dr. Hayes Bunch, director of bands at UofSC Aiken. "These themes will also apply in our acknowledgment of the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks."

General admission is $10.

Admission is free for UofSC Aiken faculty, staff, and students with university ID.

This is an ICE event for UofSC Aiken students.
