USC Aiken Alumni Director Randy Duckett Retires after 37 Years

Aiken, SC (12/27/2019) — Shortly after the December graduation ceremony, Randy Duckett, director of alumni relations University of South Carolina Aiken, retired after serving his alma mater for almost 40 years.

"I have had the honor to hear about and see some of the great things our alumni are doing in our local community, the state of South Carolina and throughout the country," Duckett said.

"I appreciate alumni all over the nation sharing their amazing post-graduation stories about their lives and the contributions they continue to make in their local communities, including many right here in the CSRA."

After 43 years of stepping on campus as a freshman, working as a student, graduate assistant, and the last 37 years as a full-time employee at USC Aiken, Duckett attended his last graduation ceremony just a few weeks ago and retired at the end of this semester.

"Randy has humbly and passionately served our students, our alumni and our university in countless ways," said Mary Driscoll, vice chancellor for advancement and external affairs.

"His legacy will continue through the lives he's touched."

While he may no longer be on campus, Duckett says he will always remain a loyal Pacer fan and hopes to see many fellow alumni and Pacer fans at events and games around the campus.

"Words cannot express what an honor it has been and how grateful I am for being able to complete this meaningful and wonderful journey with so many Pacers," the Class of '80 alumnus said.
