USC Aiken Biology Major Tapped for Student of the Month

Aiken, SC (04/30/2019) — Aiken Sunrise Rotary named Eric Roberts as its Student of the Month for April.

The biology major, who is minoring in business, will graduate May 8. Ultimately, he hopes to earn a master's degree and serve as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

"Origionally, I chose USCA for athletics, but I quickly fell in love with the university and became more and more involved in student life," Roberts said.

During his time on campus, Roberts played soccer for the university's Division II team and has served a a Pacesetter, assisting incoming students adjust to life at USC Aiken. He has been active in the Student Government Association and was a senator for the College of Sciences and Engineering. He is also active in the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, currently serving as secretary of the organization.

Academically, he's been recognized by the Peach Belt for his scholastic success. Roberts has been named to several honor rolls. In addition to his academic achievements, the student-athlete has interned with the Aiken Regional Medical Center, gaining valuable real-world experience and knowledge.

"I am so glad that I choose USCA and wouldn't change anything," he said.

"So many doors have been opened here at USCA which have helpd me explore myself and expand my self across horizons I never would have other wise."

Roberts balances a busy schedule and enjoys "hanging out" with his fraternity brothers, going to the gym, being with family and playing intramural sports.
