USC Aiken Professor Earns Service Award from Columbia

Aiken, SC (03/27/2019) — A University of South Carolina Aiken professor and academic leader earned a coveted award from the Office of Research at USC in Columbia.

Dr. Timothy Linter, assistant vice chancellor of academic affairs and professor in the USC Aiken School of Education, received a 2019 Distinguished Research Service Award.

"He certainly deserves this honor," said Dr. Judy Beck, dean of the School of Education.

"His commitment to USC Aiken and our research efforts within the USC System is phenomenal. The ultimate benefactor of this work is our students."

Those who receive this award have demonstrated "exceptional commitment to USC's research community through consistent service as reviewers and committee members for our internal funding and awards programs," according to the award criteria.

"Our slate of internal funding and professional development programs simply would not be possible without faculty members pitching in and volunteering their time and expertise," said UofSC Vice President for Research Prakash Nagarkatti.

"We are so fortunate to have faculty members from every campus who are willing to serve the USC research community by reviewing proposals, mentoring students and going above and beyond the call of duty every day."
