USC Aiken Well Represented on Conference All-Academic Team

Augusta, Ga. (05/18/2019) — The University of South Carolina Aiken baseball team placed six student-athletes on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team.

Cary Holloway, Sean McQuillan, Blake Seigler, Mitch Spence, Daniel Wiggins and Jon Yarbrough were all named to the team.

Holloway had a 3.329 GPA in exercise and sport science, while McQuillan owned a 3.963 GPA in business administration. Seigler carried a 3.675 GPA in business administration, while Spence sported a 3.782 GPA in business administration. Wiggins accounted for a 3.59 GPA in business administration and Yarbrough had a 3.59 GPA in chemistry.

The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average, on a 4.0 scale; and completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
