USCA Provost Earns High Honor

Aiken, SC (11/08/2021) — Dr. Daren Timmons, provost at the University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA) was recently selected into The Student Success Institute (SSI) for Provosts leadership development program. Timmons was one of only 24 provosts selected for this opportunity.

The program is tailored to the distinctive needs of established provosts at American Association of State Colleges and Universities member institutions. SSI will help provosts with at least one year of experience in the role to lead and implement the type of transformational change necessary to meet the evolving needs of today's increasingly diverse student body, according to the program's website.

"Dr. Timmons' selection as one of only 24 provosts from around the nation to participate in the prestigious SSI leadership development program testifies to his recognized commitment to college student achievement," said Dr. Daniel Heimmermann, chancellor. "This opportunity is most timely as our university redoubles its pledge to support our students' success and degree attainment."
