Vocal Trash to Open Cultural Series at Etherredge Center

Aiken, SC (10/10/2022) — The Etherredge Center will open its 2022-2023 Cultural Series with Vocal Trash on Sunday, October 23, at 2:00 pm. The group features creator and award-winning songwriter Steve Linder, choreographer Kelsie Rae, Greg Dugan, Pablo Barracuda, and Anthony Silva.

The Etherredge Center's annual Cultural Series has aimed to bring incredible talent from around the country to audiences in Aiken for over thirty years. Vocal Trash will provide an exciting season opener for children and adults alike. They have been described as "Glee Meets Stomp." They have toured from New York to Las Vegas to Beijing for more than fifteen years with their "urban-themed Broadway style" show. They wow audiences with first-class singing, impeccable percussion, and top-notch dancing.

Utilizing their musical talent, Vocal Trash strives to educate the public about protecting the Earth by recycling and "going green." They reimagine items found in landfills to make musical instruments such as a toolbox guitar, a milk-urn bass, and trash can drums. Vocal Trash challenges you to "Think...before you throw it away," the name of Kelsey Rae's book and Vocal Trash's educational program.

Tickets for Vocal Trash are $25-$50 for adults and $10 for youth under fifteen. To purchase tickets, call the Etherredge Center box office at 803.641.3305, visit the website at www.etherredgecenter.universitytickets.com, or stop by in person. The Etherredge Center is located at 340 Scholar Loop in Aiken. Doors will open at 1:30 pm for the 2:00 pm performance on October 23.
