Annual Cabaret Showcases Students' Talents; Previews Kennedy Center Collegiate Competition
Aiken, SC (01/23/2019) — The annual University Theatre Showcase takes place Jan. 24-25, at 7:30 p.m., on the Etherredge Center's Mainstage on the USC Aiken Campus.
The event is free and open to the public; however, donations will be accepted to offset students' travel costs to the Regional Festival of The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
The festival takes place Feb. 5-10, in Spartanburg, S.C. To prepare for the event, the cabaret showcase gives students nominated for festival-related awards the chance to present their work or perform prior to the scholarship competitions associated with the festival. USC Aiken students have been nominated for acting, stage management and design awards.

University Theatre Showcase will include the five Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship candidates performing two scenes and a monologue. Additionally, the event features three musical theatre performances and improv comedy interspersed throughout the evening.
