Annual Family Fund Campaign Kicks Off with "Give a Little, Get a Latte" Event

Aiken, SC (09/02/2021) — On Wednesday, September 1, the University of South Carolina Aiken (UofSC Aiken) kicked off their annual Family Fund campaign with the "Give a Little, Get a Latte" event. During the event, the first 100 faculty and staff who gave or pledged to the campaign received a coupon for a Starbucks latte, coffee, or drink.

The Family Fund is the university's internal fundraising campaign that will continue through October 1. UofSC Aiken holds the distinction of leading the entire UofSC System in participation and, over the years, has averaged an 84% participation rate, sometimes reaching participation rates higher than 90%. Since its inception, the UofSC Aiken Family Fund has raised almost $1.5M!

This year's Family Fund Co-Chairs are Dr. Gary Senn and Ms. Kim Fudge. Gary and Kim will serve with approximately 25 other departmental volunteers in raising funds for the university.

"At the end of the day, it is not so much about the amount you give, but your act of giving in any amount that testifies to your belief in the noble mission of UofSC Aiken," said Dr. Dan Heimmermann, chancellor. "I hope, this year, as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary, that our faculty and staff will join me in supporting the 2021 - 2022 Family Fund."
