Chancellor Ambassadors Announced

Aiken, SC (06/03/2020) — The University of South Carolina Aiken announced the 2020-2021 Chancellor Ambassadors.

"The Chancellor Ambassadors play a vital function in the operation and advancement of the university by serving as representatives of the entire student body at campus and community events," said Meredith Hawcroft, advisor for the group.

She explains that these students serve as the face of the university to many constituents. The ambassadors are key relationship builders as they foster communication between current students, donors, alumni, legislators, and other important university partners.

"It's an incredible honor to have been selected to be a member of the Chancellor Ambassadors," said Emma Platte, a junior fine arts major who was selected for the program.

"I'm eager to share my love for USC Aiken with others. I'm also looking forward to advancing my leadership skills through new service opportunities and interactions with prominent members of our university and the community."

Hawcroft and fellow advisor, Marissa Collins, say this year's selection process was the most competitive they have experienced since becoming involved with the group. The candidates were so impressive that the advisory team decided to select 13 students to be Chancellor Advisors. This marks a record high for any given year.

"We are confident that this group of 13 exceptional students will represent the university to the best of their ability in the months to come. We are grateful for the students who are willing to commit their time to supporting the mission of the university," Hawcroft said.

"Every year, the Chancellor Ambassador group is comprised of some of the most remarkable student leaders on campus who represent us well and are a joy to work with; I can tell this incoming group will be no different."
