Newly Appointed Dean of SOBA
USC Aiken welcomes Dr. Nancy Albers to the School of Business Administration
Aiken, SC (04/14/2022) — The University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Nancy Albers as the next dean of the School of Business Administration (SOBA). Dr. Albers comes to Aiken from Louisiana State University (LSU) Shreveport, where she has served as a professor of marketing and dean of the College of Business. She has a wealth of experience, as indicated by her former positions as dean of the School of Business at Pacific Lutheran University, professor and chair of the Marketing Department at Berry College, and on the faculty at the University of North Texas and the University of Houston.
At LSU Shreveport, Dr. Albers led many outstanding efforts for the School of Business during her five-year tenure as dean. She helped lead a 300% enrollment growth in business and a 45% growth in undergraduate programs. During her time in leadership positions across various institutions, she has helped establish two new graduate degrees, nine graduate concentrations, six graduate specializations, ten undergraduate concentrations, various certificates, and industry alignment of programs. This also included other curricular revisions and course delivery methods, including moving and creating programs online. She has extensive experience with the AACSB accrediting process, both for new programs and reaffirmation of accredited programs. She has solid experience with budgeting and fiscal management, as well as external outreach and fundraising.
Dr. Albers received her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Houston. She received an M.B.A. from Texas State University-San Marcos and a B.S. in Speech Communications from the University of Texas at Austin. On July 1, 2022, Dr. Albers will take over the leadership of the USC Aiken SOBA from Interim Dean Dr. Sanela Porca, who will return to the faculty after eighteen months of passionate and excellent service to the school and university.
