Aiken, SC (09/08/2020) — Dr. Judy Beck, dean of the School of Education at the University of South Carolina Aiken, is now the president of the Association of Teacher Educators.

"We start our next century of service with great hope and a renewed sense of purpose to advocate for inclusiveness, equity and excellence in educator preparation," Beck said at the time of her installment.

"I am honored to be the president of the Association of Teacher Educators and be entrusted to lead our organization forward."

Prior to earning her Ph.D. at the University of Toledo in Curriculum & Instruction, she taught middle school students in Ohio. In addition to a President's Service award from ATE, Beck has earned five Excellence in Teaching awards in higher education.
