Sociology Major Takes Top Billing at Mid-South Conference
Aiken, SC (11/05/2018) — University of South Carolina Aiken sociology major, Travis Hardee, presented his research at the Mid-South Sociological Association in Birmingham, Ala., and came home with a first-place paper.
Hardee, who is also minoring in Spanish, submitted his paper, "Film Analysis: Gayby Baby" for the association's undergraduate paper competition. Among 15 papers submitted, his was chosen as the best.
"Travis' paper was by far the best undergraduate presentation I saw during the conference," said his faculty mentor, Dr. Melencia Johnson, associate professor of sociology.
