Student of the Month

Aiken, SC (09/02/2021) — Aiken Sunrise Rotary Club has named University of South Carolina Aiken (UofSC Aiken) student, Aisha Griffin, as their Student of the Month for September.

Griffin is a senior interdisciplinary studies major from Lexington, South Carolina. In addition to her undergraduate studies, she is very active in extracurricular activities. She serves as the senator of humanities and social sciences in the Student Government Association, public relations chair and social events chair in the National Society of Leadership and Success, and student coordinator of marketing. She is a member of C.U.R.L.S. (Confident, Unique, Regal, Leading, Society) and is a Chancellor Ambassador and Pacesetter. The Pacesetters are a group of peer mentors who act as guides for incoming students during Orientation.

"I chose to attend UofSC Aiken because I saw how welcoming the student body is," she said. "After my open house visit, I knew I wanted to go to school here right then and there. I also like how the class sizes are small. It makes me feel more comfortable."

After graduation, Griffin plans to obtain a master's in public relations and work in media. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, reading books, and photography.
