Two Women Basketball Players Earn All-Conference Honors

Augusta, Ga. (03/13/2019) — Two University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball standouts earned all-conference honors.
Kwajelin Farrar garnered first-team honors while Kyrie' Chandler picked up third-team accolades. Chandler was also named the Elite 15 award winner.
Farrar, a native of Grovetown, Ga., was a two-time PBC Player of the Week selection. The forward wrapped up the season as one of three players in the league to average a double-double. Farrar accounted for 15.7 points and 10.1 rebounds a game. She finished second in the PBC in field goal percentage (58.6 percent), third in rebounds per game and fifth in points per contest. Farrar was second in field goals made (191), third in blocks (44) and total rebounds (292). The redshirt-sophomore accounted for 12 double-double efforts on the year. The PBC all-academic team selection scored a career-high 32 points in the win over Georgia Southwestern. Her 14 made field goals in the game shattered a Division II school record. She snagged a season-best 16 rebounds in the win over Flagler.
During Farrar's freshman season in 2016-17, she was named the PBC Freshman of the Year and garnered second-team all-league accolades.
Chandler, a senior guard from Powder Springs, Ga., averaged 13.2 points per game. She finished second in the league in three-point field goals made (69) and three-point field goal percentage (38.1 percent). Chandler ranked fourth in free throw percentage (77.2 percent), sixth in free throws made (88) and 10th in points (383). The PBC all-academic team selection scored a season-best 19 points in the wins over Francis Marion and Augusta. Chandler buried a season-best six three-point field goals in the victory over Lenoir-Rhyne and dished out a season-high six assists in the win over Columbus State. She scored at least 10 points 25 times.
Chandler also earned the Elite 15 award, which goes to the student-athlete competing in the PBC Tournament with the highest GPA. She earned a 3.993 GPA. Chandler will graduate with a degree in political science and a minor in business.
