USC Aiken Dancer Picked for Student of the Month

Aiken, SC (04/29/2018) — Sunrise Rotary picked a local dancer as its Student of the Month for April.

University of South Carolina Aiken senior Ashley Egansays she's "honored" to have been selected.

The business administration major graduates in May and hopes to operate her own dance studio one day.

"I chose USC Aiken to stay close to my family but also because my dance coach in high school recommended I go to USC Aiken," said the Midland Valley High School alumna.

During her time on campus, Egan has been a teaching assistant at Burns Dance Studio. Additionally, she has been part of the USC Aiken dance team and currently serves as its team bonding leader - all while maintaining a GPA that has placed her on the dean's or president's list almost every semester.

While dancing is a big part of her life, she says family means more.

"I love dancing, reading, playing video games but most importantly, [I love] spending time with friends and family."
