USC Aiken December 2021 Graduates
Aiken, SC (01/20/2022) — The University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken) celebrated its newest alumni during December commencement on December 9, 2021.
During the ceremony held at the USC Aiken Convocation Center, graduates received Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees across various disciplines and Master of Business Administration and Master of Science degrees.
Dr. Daniel Heimmermann, chancellor, presided over the ceremony. Jaliyah T. Collins, a junior music major, sang the national anthem and the alma mater. Graduating senior Justin Richburg, an exercise and sports science major, delivered the invocation. Kyle Ready, a graduating nursing major, gave the benediction. Blake Leaphart, president of the USC Aiken Alumni Association, presented the Outstanding Senior Student Award to Mosope Onifade.
Captain Isaiah Hines, an officer training instructor with the 217th Training Squadron, Officer Training School, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, delivered the commencement address.
A native of Philadelphia, PA, Hines is a 2016 graduate of USC Aiken and earned his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 775, graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He was commissioned as a contracting officer and has currently been selected to train and develop the next generation of Air Force officers.
In addition to his military duties, Hines is the founder of the nonprofit organization Higher Level Leadership, dedicated to developing the next generation of minority leaders.
