USC Aiken Featured on Wall Street Journal Podcast
Aiken, SC (02/03/2022) — On Tuesday of this week, University of South Carolina Aiken's (USC Aiken) associate vice chancellor for enrollment management, Dan Robb, was featured on an episode of The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) podcast, "The Journal." The episode titled "Is This the End of the SAT?" focuses on how the pandemic forced many colleges to make standardized entrance exams like the SAT optional and are choosing to make the tests optional longer term. WSJ's Douglas Belkin explains the forces motivating them in the episode, and Robb describes how the trends affect USC Aiken.
In the interview, Robb said, "I think the pandemic just escalated this, the speed of this, at light speed. I think we'd probably be talking about this in 2030, maybe, if I were a betting man, if things just kind of plodded along, but boy, this changed everything, and it changed it really quickly."
